Manage Preview Attributes
Audience attributes control which columns appear in Preview Users and Export Sample (CSV). Use them to choose the identifiers and traits reviewers need to confirm that the audience is correct.
Selected attributes
The Audience Attributes panel shows selected output fields at the top. The observed page includes examples such as Name, Email, Mobile, Country, and Purchase Count.
Each selected attribute can show:
- Display label.
- Underlying member path, such as
Customer.emailorOrders.purchaseCount. - Data type, such as string or number.
- Source category, such as Customer or Orders.
Choose attributes
Select attributes that help reviewers answer the QA question. For activation review, start with stable identifiers and decision-making traits.
| Attribute type | Examples | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Name, Email, Mobile, Customer ID | Lets reviewers inspect who is included |
| Location | Country, City, Region | Confirms geography rules |
| Lifecycle | Lifecycle Stage, Lead Status | Confirms journey stage |
| Behavior | Purchase Count, Active Days, Last Event | Confirms behavior rules |
| Prediction | Churn Risk, Conversion Likelihood | Confirms model-based rules |
Search and source filters
Use Search attributes to find attributes by name or member path.
Use Source to narrow the list to a source such as Customer, Orders, Events, Predictions, Purchase, or Campaign. Use All Sources when you want to search across the full catalog.
Bulk actions
Use Select All when the filtered list contains exactly the attributes you want to add.
Use Deselect All when you want to remove the currently visible filtered attributes.
Use Clear All when the preview should start with no selected attributes.
Avoid selecting unnecessary PII for routine review or export. Include only the identifiers and traits needed for the task.
Reorder and remove attributes
Use move controls to reorder selected attributes. Put the most important identifiers first so reviewers can scan rows quickly.
Recommended order:
- Customer ID or stable identifier.
- Name.
- Email or mobile.
- Location or lifecycle fields.
- Behavior or prediction fields.
- Campaign or source fields.
Use Remove for fields that are not needed in the preview or export.
Attribute summary
The attribute summary row groups selected attributes by source. Use it to confirm that the output is balanced. For example, a summary of Customer (4) and Orders (1) means most selected columns come from the Customer source, with one Orders field.
QA checklist
- Selected attributes answer the review question.
- Sensitive identifiers are included only when needed.
- At least one stable identifier is selected for row-level review.
- The selected order helps reviewers scan exported CSV files quickly.
- Source summary matches the intended data sources.
- Preview rows refresh after changing attributes and estimating.
Common issues
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Preview has no columns | No attributes are selected | Select at least one preview attribute |
| Reviewers cannot identify users | Identifier fields are missing | Add Customer ID, email, mobile, or another approved identifier |
| CSV has too many columns | Too many attributes were selected | Remove fields that do not support QA or downstream use |
| Expected attribute is missing | Source filter or search term is too narrow | Set Source to All Sources and clear search |
| Output order is hard to read | Attributes were selected in a random order | Move identifiers and key traits to the top |
